The most common questions
The key answers to install SpawnBot, configure permissions and manage your servers directly from Discord.
What is SpawnBot for?
SpawnBot turns your Discord into a game server hub. Admins can create, start, stop, restart and configure servers directly from their own Discord. They can also allow selected members to create and manage their own servers. The whole community can continuously see the list of available servers right inside Discord.
How do I get started?
Add SpawnBot to your Discord server, run /setup to define roles and permissions, then use /spawn to create your first server. Depending on the game, SpawnBot may also offer map or save upload during the creation flow so you can start directly with your own content.
Do I need to leave Discord to use SpawnBot?
No. SpawnBot was built to avoid switching between multiple tools. Server creation, management and tracking happen directly inside your own Discord, in a familiar environment for both admins and authorized members.
Is it really free?
Yes. During this alpha phase, SpawnBot is offered for free so we can improve the infrastructure and build the features players actually need. If something is missing or you have a specific request, come talk to us on our official Discord.
Can I choose who is allowed to create servers?
Yes. With /setup, you define exactly who can use SpawnBot on your Discord server. You can keep some actions limited to admins, open them to specific roles, or let selected members create and manage their own servers.
Do I need hosting or my own machine to use SpawnBot?
No. You do not need to rent or configure your own machine to get started. SpawnBot handles the game server hosting and lets you control everything directly from Discord.
How can I tell whether my server is available?
The /spawn command shows the list of servers in your community along with their status. You can also enable the auto status feature from the /spawn menu: SpawnBot will post a message listing the community servers and keep it updated automatically. You can then pin that message to keep a permanent view of the available servers in your Discord.
How can I promote and grow my server?
Start simple: clearly announce your server launch in your Discord, explain what it is for, which game it is built for and what makes it worth joining. To attract your first players, one of the most effective approaches is to schedule a first play session, invite your community to test it, then encourage satisfied early players to come back with friends. You can also share your server on your social networks, in communities related to your game when allowed, and keep your Discord active so people feel they are joining a living community. Finally, we recommend listing your server for free on Trouve Ton Serveur.
How do I upload my save?
For some games such as Minecraft or Valheim, SpawnBot offers save upload when you create the server. This step is only available during server creation. Do not worry: every instruction needed to prepare and upload your save is explained during the process itself.
I added plugins or mods, but they do not work
After adding or changing plugins, mods or other content, the server needs to be restarted for the changes to apply. In SpawnBot, open the settings for the relevant server and simply click Restart.
Why is SpawnBot not responding to commands?
After being added to your server, SpawnBot can take 5 to 10 seconds before it becomes fully active and posts its confirmation message. If you do not see that message or if /setup does not respond, check that SpawnBot can read the target channel and that the intended users are allowed to use Discord commands.
Where can I get help if I am stuck?
If you get stuck while installing or using SpawnBot, you can open a support ticket directly from the bot. You can also join our official Discord.
Can the cost be shared?
Yes. SpawnBot will include a feature that lets an entire community contribute to the subscription cost. Admins will be able to enable or disable it freely if they do not want to ask the community to contribute.
